Abstract

This paper aims to introduce the importance of work analysis using the DACUM methodology in the design of military academic education programs, and to identify the difficulties in this regard, using a descriptive and analytical approach. The paper concluded that work analysis using the DACUM methodology is important in building military academic education programs based on actual training needs, designing them in a way that matches the actual reality of military work in the field, linking the outputs of military academic education to the needs of military organizations. Difficulties that hinder this include the urgency of results in the military field, lack of specialists, lack or unavailability of expert practitioners of some military functions or inaccessible to them, lack of desire for cooperation and coordination, limited opportunities for participation of practitioners of military functions. The paper concludes that DACUM work analysis contributes to building military academic education programs that eliminate or reduce the gap between theory and practice, generate the highest level of motivation among military personnel, and eliminate the need for the trainee to undergo an apprenticeship period in the military profession.
